The Purple Promise Foundation to End Melanoma

The Purple Promise Foundation is a not-for-profit charity formed to make the public aware of the personal and public costs of melanoma cancer and ways to better identify and prevent all forms of skin cancer. The Foundation was founded for Jessica. Jessica celebrated her 30th birthday on June 30, 2007. She had just received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Catholic University in Washington, DC, and was looking forward to her second wedding anniversary with her husband in July. During a family vacation in August, she announced she was expecting her first child. Life was good...... Then in September, Jessica received a phone call that would change her life... West Blvd Ministry

West Blvd Ministry's mission is to serve the spiritual and physical needs of the families and communities within the West Blvd corridor. Whether it's mentoring programs, food distribution, neighborhood cookouts, bible study bingo or our monthly BBQ For Blue, West Blvd Ministry looks to create a space that fosters healthy and lasting relationships.

This year, funds raised at the South End Shuffle will encourage the kids in the program to stay active by giving them the opportunity to attend Charlotte FC Soccer Camp!

Dan Wade Memorial Scholarship

The Dan Wade Memorial Scholarship provides aspiring brewers with the education and training necessary to advance their careers in the craft beer industry. The scholarship was established in remembrance of Dan Wade, a dear friend and partner of the South End Shuffle, and a respected leader in the brewing community. As the co-founder of Wooden Robot Brewery in Charlotte, NC, Dan poured his heart and soul into his craft, always championing the science and creativity behind every pour. More than anything, Dan believed in the power of bringing people together and creating a space for others to learn. We are honored to carry his passion forward by supporting the Dan Wade Memorial Scholarship. Dan was also highly involved in the South End Shuffle 5K & Mile Run and was one of our biggest supporters. Over the years, he ran race, helped his team pour beer to thirsty runners after the race, he brewed the special South End Shuffle Blonde Ale, and even helped hand out the beer to runners on the morning of his wedding!
